How online prescriptions work
After a consultation, your GP may send an e-prescription to a pharmacy in Ireland when it is safe and clinically justified. Have your medicine names, doses, allergies and recent changes ready.
Repeat renewals are common for stable treatments, but the doctor still decides. New symptoms, interactions or monitoring needs may require face-to-face care or tests first.
What we do not prescribe online
Controlled drugs and certain high-risk medicines are not suitable for remote prescribing on this service. Your doctor will explain if an in-person pathway is needed.
